“It is a truth universally acknowledged that when one part of your life starts going okay, another falls spectacularly to pieces.” – Bridget Jones
As my parents’ collective health began to fail, two things happened to change my course:
- I am changing jobs. I found my new home in downtown Carmel, Indiana at Fat Atom Marketing, where I’ll be joining as a Marketing Specialist. This firm does amazing work and I’m pumped to bring my words, experience, and other talents to them!
- I got invited to attend Monday night scrimmage practices with the Naptown A/B level teams. This is a big honor and makes me know my hard work and hundreds of burpees paid off!
What the future holds for my parents is unknown right now. My Dad told me a few weeks back that he knew I could “take care of myself.” My Mom echoed those sentiments last night.
I sincerely want to believe they’re right.
Hang in there Devon. I know things are tough and it’s hard to see your parents health fail. I was a little older than you when my dad passed. I hope you enjoy your new job. If there is anything that Roger and I can do to help you out let us know.
